The film Pratyaksha, made in Begusarai, Bihar, was given the ‘Best Original Screenplay Award’ at the Jaipur International Film Festival. On January 25, a total of 101 films were selected by 19 juries from 12 countries in the competition category of Feature Fiction Full Length Film. Out of those 101 films, only 15 films were awarded which was duly announced by JIFF. Among the same 15 awarded films, the film Pratyaksha was also given the “Best Original Screenplay Award”. The writer of this film, Pradyot Kumar has been awarded for the best story, screenplay and dialogue.

Pradyot Kumar, writer of the film ‘Pratyaksha’, says that a total of 2971 films from 84 countries were entered in different categories in the Jaipur International Film Festival this year, in which the film Pratyaksha made in Bihar has made the state of Bihar proud by winning a very special award. All the actors associated with this film, from the producer to the director (crew), all belong to Begusarai.
What do the actors of the film say?
Actor Vivek Anand of this film is very excited with this award. He is also quite optimistic about his future. The film’s actress Shweta Kashyap is also very happy and hopeful. Regarding their acting career, both of them say that this film has received an award as per our hard work and this is not just an award but a new responsibility to do better further, for which we are ready.
In the eyes of the film’s writer, this is an experimental film.
Pradyot Kumar, writer of the film ‘Pratyaksha’, says that it is an experimental film. It took about 18 months to write this film. I did a lot of research on this film. Pradyot Kumar says that this is not just a matter of saying, the audience will themselves feel this after watching this film.
This is a performance based film
Pradyot Kumar told that when I narrated the story of this film to director Pankaj Kumar for the first time, he had said that it is something different, which is also quite risky. We will definitely do this film because from the acting and actor’s point of view it is a performance based film, anyway there is no risk no gain in life. Pankaj Kumar had said absolutely the right thing, he took risk yesterday that is why today we have achieved such great success.
This award is given to the films of Bihar and Begusarai for the first time.
Director Pankaj Kumar said that, in bringing this film to this point, we had to face a lot of difficulties and obstacles, which required a lot of patience and restraint, which we certainly endured. All the people associated with this film have worked very hard, I am thankful to all those people, especially the film’s DOP Santosh Mithbhavkar and editor Varun Singh. This film will be among the audience very soon. We hope that this film will get a lot of love from the audience. This year, the film Pratyaksha has to be sent to more renowned film festivals and it has to bring glory to Begusarai, Bihar and the country by winning many awards. This award is definitely a matter of pride for the people of Bihar and Begusarai district. Till now no one has received this award in Bihar and Begusarai.
